Welcome!

Hi there! Here’s a bit of a blurb about my qualifications and my career, however, the most important thing is that I am just another human being trying to make the most of this life. I have had plenty of challenges and despite wanting to be perfect, have failed plenty. I’ve travelled the world, I’ve bought and sold houses, I’ve been married and divorced and fell in love again. I’ve had two babies. I’ve been sick, I’ve been well. I’ve run marathons and hiked mountains. And I’ve spent many many many hours sitting, listening and watching people, to learn about life, about people and about myself. It doesn’t make me an expert, but it gives me an ability to listen and to relate. To possibly understand your unique circumstances in a different way and guide you to discover something different about yourself and your health that will allow you to feel more unlimited and more purposeful. To feel alive and well.

I am a qualified Occupational Therapist, graduating from University of Queensland in 1999 and have spent my career studying the art and science of what it is to be healthy.  I live and breathe health and have combined my love of travel with my thirst for knowledge, studying with leading experts in neurology and functional movement in Europe, working in Canada and the UK, and experiencing many different cultural art forms of medicine and lifestyle throughout the world.  I believe there is no better way to learn what to do and what not to do than by observing people living in different cultures.

I gained my Certification in Lifestyle Medicine through the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine in 2017 and have completed post graduate studies in Integrative Medicine and Functional Soft Tissue Injury Management.  I am always learning and have attended many courses and conferences in nutritional medicine, neurosciences, lifestyle medicine and injury management.

I have diverse experience, working in a mixture of private practice, corporate health and wellbeing and training/education roles.  As education is also a great passion I have had roles lecturing and supervising at both James Cook and Southern Cross Universities. I have also developed and implemented many workplace health and wellbeing programs and spoken at many workshops and public events.

I see great opportunities for OT’s to lead the way in health care, bringing the art and science of care together through an OT, Lifestyle Medicine and Integrative approach.  I would love to talk with you further about my programs for individual health coaching, professional mentoring programs or health and wellbeing for workplaces.
